Mermaid diagram support

New feature Improvements Design
null

Course authors can now render diagrams directly in Sana by writing Mermaid code inside a code block. Describe what you want, generate the code using an AI tool like Claude or ChatGPT, and paste it in to produce flowcharts, sequence diagrams, Gantt charts, and more. It works wherever code blocks are supported in Sana Learn content, and is especially useful for clients who want professional-looking visuals in their courses but don't have a design resource to create them. Currently available on request. Reach out to your Engagement team to enable it.

In-person session attendance in Insights

Improvements
null

This request came directly from partners. In-person training is a significant part of most L&D programs, but until now the attendance data it generated didn't have the same reporting depth in Insights as live sessions. Attendance from in-person events now reaches full parity—add it as a metric in your Insights dashboard widgets for a complete picture of learner engagement across your whole program. For clients who are currently tracking in-person attendance separately, this removes the need entirely. Find it in Manage > Insights.

AI Tutor sessions in courses

New feature Improvements
null

Course authors can now embed AI Tutor sessions as cards directly inside their courses. Set the sources (other courses, PDFs, or web pages), edit the outline to define what the Tutor covers, and it appears in the course flow alongside assessments and reflections. For organizations where learners arrive with different levels of experience, this is the most direct way to make a single course work for everyone, and a strong answer for any client who's raised one-size-fits-all content as a limitation. Find it in the course editor alongside other card types.

Edit Mode: Persistent chat history

New feature
null

Edit mode now saves your sessions automatically, so a refresh or a closed tab no longer means starting from scratch. Previous chats are available from the dropdown at the top left of the panel, so you can pick up exactly where you left off. The rebuild also makes Edit mode significantly more reliable, with far fewer server errors. Especially useful for larger tasks, like ingesting a full SCORM package.

Edit Mode: Image generation & editing

New feature
null

Edit mode can now generate new images from a description and edit existing ones, all without leaving the course editor. We've also upgraded the image model, so quality is sharper, especially for images that include text. Whether you need a custom illustration, an updated diagram, or a polished visual for a slide, you can build it right where you're working. Open Edit mode and ask it to generate or edit an image to start.

Voice mode for Scenario card

New feature
null

We've introduced voice mode for Scenario card so learners practice conversations out loud rather than typing responses. Set it up the same way as the text version, choose language and voice, then publish. From sales pitches to difficult conversations, speaking your way through practice is closer to the real thing than reading and typing ever was. Find voice mode in the scenario card settings in the course editor.

Sharing Study sessions in Tutor mode

New feature
null

Good learning plans deserve a wider audience. Once you've built a Study session in Tutor mode, you can now share it via link—anyone with access to the underlying content can open and follow the same plan. Whether a manager distributing a plan ahead of a new initiative or a learner sharing with peers, great Study sessions no longer need to be rebuilt from scratch. Find the share button at the bottom of any Study session.

Program metadata translations

New feature
null

Running programs across multiple languages just got a lot simpler. Admins can now translate program titles, descriptions, section titles, and emails directly in the platform—no need to build a separate program for each language. Use the translation engine (which includes key terms), review and adjust as needed, and learners automatically see the program in their preferred language. Find it in Program admin → Settings → Translations, then select the languages you need.

File support in Edit mode

New feature Improvements
null

Turn existing materials into courses without rebuilding from scratch. Edit mode now accepts PDF and SCORM files—drag and drop one file or several at once, then provide instructions. The agent combines multiple files into a single course if needed, working like an instructional design assistant that handles the tedious parts. This makes it easier to work with materials from subject matter experts, vendors, or legacy systems and transform them into engaging Sana courses.

Tutor mode enhancements

Improvements
null

Two major improvements make learning with the Tutor more effective. Threads let you revisit every conversation and learning plan—pick up where you left off or ask follow-up questions. When you enable deep learning mode, the Tutor can now generate custom quizzes in four formats: pick the best option, drag and drop, fill in the missing word, and open-ended questions. Quizzes adapt to your sources and situation, making practice more engaging. Request one anytime during your session.

Program email translations

New feature
null

Run global programs from a single setup. All program emails can now be translated directly in program settings, and learners automatically receive emails in their preferred language once you create and publish translations. This eliminates the need to build duplicate programs for different regions—one program now handles everything while you maintain centralized analytics. Multi-national teams can focus on content quality instead of managing multiple versions of the same program.

Survey results in Insights

Improvements
null

Track and analyze survey feedback without switching tools. Survey card data now appears in Insights as interactive metrics—average Likert scale responses, average NPS responses, unique responses, and response counts. Filter by question type or select specific questions from your courses to build dashboards that show exactly what you need. Use the raw data view to export everything as tables, making it easy to share results with stakeholders and make data-driven decisions.
